Private Tour is the northern lights experience made just for you — perfect for couples, friends, families, and parents with young kids who want the magic of the aurora without sharing the night with anyone outside their group.

Every night starts the same way it does for all our tours: your guide has been tracking the aurora forecast all day — solar activity, cloud cover, all of it — and only heads out when conditions genuinely give you a good chance. But being private means we can move with real agility too: while shared tours stay put once they’ve settled somewhere, we’re free to chase clearer skies the moment they open up elsewhere, giving you the best shot at catching the lights at their brightest.

Because it’s your own vehicle, the whole night moves at your pace. Flexible starting and ending times mean no fixed schedule to work around, and pickup is flexible too — outside the city in nearby towns, or even somewhere like the Blue Lagoon, wherever suits your plans best. With no age restrictions, it’s the ideal choice for families with young kids, and just as fitting for a proposal under the aurora, a milestone celebration, or a night out with friends who’d rather have the sky to themselves.

Your guide is also your personal photographer for the night — with just your group in frame, every shot is focused entirely on you, not divided across a busload of guests. You’ll get an online gallery link to download your photos within 24 hours.

Once you’re out chasing the lights, everything that’s earned Aurora Experts its reputation still applies: access to our own secret spots, far from other tour groups, warm winter snowsuits and outdoor chairs so the wait is comfortable, and snacks and hot cocoa to keep you going through the cold.

We can’t guarantee the lights, and unlike our small-group tour, private tours don’t include a free re-try. What we offer instead is a backup date. If the forecast or the aurora strength doesn’t look strong enough on your booked night, we’ll tell you honestly and move you to the next night — or another date that suits you. We’d rather do that than take you out under a sky we already know won’t deliver.
