Every guide we send out is a professional photographer. The photos from your night are yours, free, and there’s no limit on how many.
Most people who see the northern lights come home without a picture they’re happy with. Phones can capture the aurora these days, but rarely well — you need a steady mount, a long exposure and someone who knows the settings, in the cold, in the dark, while it’s changing. That’s why our guides are photographers first.
What you get
Photos of you with the aurora, and photos of the night itself — the sky, the landscape, the group. As many as we take, which on a good night is a lot.
They’re yours. No watermark, no fee, no limit. Post them, print them, send them to your family. If you tag us when you share them, we appreciate it, but nothing is asked of you.
How you’ll get them
A link to an online gallery, the day after your tour.
If you booked directly, it comes by email. If you booked through Viator, GetYourGuide or Airbnb, we send it to your inbox on that platform — so check there rather than your email.
The camera sees more than you do
This is worth knowing before you come. A camera gathers light over several seconds; your eye can’t. So a display that looks like a pale grey band overhead can come out vivid green in a photograph.
It means the photos from a quiet night are often better than people expect — and it’s part of why we take them. You get to see what was actually above you.
When we don’t take photos
If there’s no visible aurora, there are no photos. We won’t pretend a blank sky was something else, and there’s nothing worth photographing on a night that didn’t happen. That’s what the Re-Try Tour is for.
