HOW YOU’LL KNOW

We decide whether a tour runs on the day, and you’ll hear from us either way. Here’s when, and where to look.

Every tour we run depends on the sky, and the sky doesn’t settle until the day itself. So we don’t confirm weeks ahead and then hope — we watch the forecast through the day and make the call when the picture is clear enough to trust.

When you’ll hear

You’ll get a confirmation or a cancellation between 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM GMT on the day of your tour. Most nights it comes earlier in that window; on a night where the forecast is still shifting, it can come right at the end of it.

We’d rather take the extra hours and make the right call than tell you at lunchtime and be wrong.

Where to look

If you booked directly with us, it comes by email — check your spam folder if you don’t see it.

If you booked through Viator, GetYourGuide or Airbnb, we can only reach you through that platform’s own messaging inbox. Those messages are easy to miss, so make sure you can access it and that notifications are switched on.

Please keep your phone on through the afternoon and early evening. This is the single most useful thing you can do on the day of your tour.

What happens if we cancel

You choose: move to another night, free of charge and subject to availability, or take a full refund. Just reply to us and tell us which you’d prefer.

Why we cancel at all

Because a tour under thick cloud isn’t a tour, it’s a bus ride. We only go out when the forecast gives you a real chance, and a night we call off is a night that was never going to deliver. It’s also why our sighting rate means something.
